Scientologist
Catherine Bell is celebrity spokesperson
Actress Catherine Bell, who may be best known for her role in the
television series J.A.G., is a thyroid cancer survivor and celebrity
spokesperson for The Thyroid Cancer Survivors Association, ThyCa.
Catherine Bell is featured in ThyCa's Thyroid Cancer Awareness patient
brochure, where she shares her own thyroid cancer survivor story and
highlights the importance of learning about the disease and the
resources available for thyroid cancer patients.
In 1989, Catherine Bell was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. As part of
Catherine Bell's treatment, Catherine Bell underwent surgery and makes
no effort to hide the thyroidectomy scar at the base of her neck.
Catherine Bell is quoted as saying, "I think it's kinda cool. I'm living
proof that early detection and treatment work." In addition, Catherine
Bell has made no effort to conceal the fact that Catherine Bell is a
Scientologist. As Mary Shomon, About.com thyroid guide points out, "a
group that is actively fighting against key sectors of the medical
community, namely the mental health and psychiatry community." |

Bell is a Super Bowl psychic
The insanely popular
webstie Snopes, whose sole purpose for existing is to prove whether or
not certain urban legends are true, added a page today which features
none other than the voluptuous Catherine Bell.
Apparently there was an urban legend going around (I never got wind of
it) that Catherine Bell not only accurately predicted the outcome of the
2002 Super Bowl, but that Catherine Bell did it before the ‘01-’02
season even began! The crew at Snopes proved that Catherine Bell DID
predict the final EXACT Super Bowl score… but after it had already been
established what two teams would be playing. |

Bell speaks on climate
North Island MP Catherine
Bell says she is turning up the heat on climate change in Ottawa. While
speaking in the House of Commons on the need for urgent action on
climate change, Bell cited specific examples from her Vancouver Island
North riding. Bell pointed to a longer forest fire season, the impact on
fish habitat and the shrinking Comox Glacier when speaking Monday in
favour of a Bill introduced by NDP leader Jack Layton. The Private
Member’s Bill “lays out a plan to ensure that Canada meets its global
climate change obligations under the United Nations Framework Convention
on Climate Change and creates an accountability measure to make sure
that we follow through and meet those targets,” Bell told the House.
Catherine Bell said ordinary Canadians are far ahead of the Canadian
government in recognizing the need for action on climate change. She
said Canadians “have been calling upon the government for years to act,
to clean up our air and our water, and to reduce greenhouse gas
emissions.” Catherine Bell said the impacts of climate change can be
seen around the country, as well as in Vancouver Island North. “Because
the forest is drying out more quickly, there is more likelihood of
forest fires,” Catherine Bell said. “While forest fires are nothing new
in British Columbia, they usually happen in July and August, but last
year we had our first fire on Vancouver Island in May, not very far from
where I live.” But “the most startling example of climate change on the
coast is in our oceans,” she noted. “Fish migration patterns are
changing. "This will have an impact for years to come. Couple (warmer
waters) with the increasing acidity of our oceans due to carbon dioxide,
and the impact on the fish habitat is enormous.” Catherine Bell
challenged the government to support Layton’s Bill and get started on
immediate action to reduce greenhouse gas emission. “If we are going to
make real changes quickly, the government needs to make a stronger
commitment to the people of Canada and the environment,” Catherine Bell
said. |

Bella and Jubilee are pie of cherries
Catherine Bell said the dance
group has been part of the festivities for all eight of the jubilees.
"We love coming to Dumfries," said Bell, noting that in addition to
colonial dancers, the members provide living history demonstrations,
period events and SOL-based school programs. Catherine Bell even coached
nine people attending the Jubilee to join with them in a dance routine.
All of the dancers had made their colorful period costumes.
Debbie Ward, president of Historic Dumfries Virginia Inc., said that
attendance at the event "had been down from previous years."he weather,
plus the group's inability to send fliers home through students because
of the closing of school, played a factor in the turnout, she said. She
said that in past years upwards of 200 people showed up and the
organization raised at least $400 to benefit the Weems-Botts Museum. |

create a bond based on one common theme: they all love a soldier who
could die at any moment. Yet, they are all isolated by secrets that buck
the armed forces system.
